We are urgently recruiting a WHS Senior Consultant for a candidate who will be responsible for the co-ordination and management of Work Health and Safety activities throughout our client's diverse and unique health care facility.
The position will act as a consultancy service to all levels of staff, promoting WH&S and increasing awareness; as well as being responsible for the initiation, implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive WH&S programmes; providing statistical information and analysis and implements appropriate preventative strategies. Ultimately it is to ensure all efforts lead to successful safety levels and overall achievement of audit accreditation. Reports are required to be prepared at Executive level standard.
This role is suited to WHS professional with at least 5 years WHS experience.
We are seeking a WHS professional from industry who can demonstrate the following:
- Formal Tertiary Qualifications in WHS (at university level as a minimum)
- Minimum of 5 years practical WHS experience with a preference in a health setting
- Familiarity and experience with WHS risk management in a complex and diverse health care environment
- Proven lead auditor knowledge and experience
- Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, current practices and trends.
- Knowledge and experience in planning and measuring performance against standards e.g. WHS and Injury Management Profile, Australian Standards
- Facilitating & conducting safety initiatives, risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Well-developed communications and facilitation skills including the ability to engage with people at all levels of an organisation to broker the achievement of WHS outcomes
- Coaching, supporting and mentoring line managers across a diverse range of services.
