ITEC Health/ITEC Youth is a leading provider of health care, with offices throughout the NT, QLD, NSW and SA. ITEC Health/ITEC Youth provides total care packages for Holistic, Mental Health and Disabilities including acute and non-acute, Home Care and Residential Care with highly trained Support Workers and Carers. ITEC Health/ITEC Youth offers a unique opportunity for a motivated and experienced Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator, on a part-time basis, to join their team at their head office in Cairns.

Responsibilities for this position include:

• Assisting employees in the return to work process, including lodging of claims, liaising with insurers and other relevant bodies, and conducting investigations, while ensuring a timely process for both the organisation and the employee.
• Coordinate and manage employee claims, develop and review health management plans, and deliver strategies to assist employees to return to work.
• Support managers to understand their responsibilities with employees and help them identify potential issues, how to implement preventative measures, and development for continuous improvement.
• Actively monitor and identify potential risks and implement corrective actions, maintain data and other administration requirements, and adhere to relevant legislative acts.
• Collate and submit reports to management and other stakeholders as requested.

To be successful for this position, you will need the following:

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant industry and/or 3 years’ demonstrated experience in a similar position, will be highly desired.
• Extensive experience in WorkCover claims, injury management and rehabilitation
• Exceptional communication skills including negotiation and consulting.
• Excellent problem solving, research, conceptual and analytical skills, while implementing practical and forward thinking operational plans and solutions.
• High organisational skills including time management and the ability to prioritise tasks.
• Ability to interpret contractual and legislative documents and use these in relation to claims and investigating cases.
• High level of computer skills and various online platforms including databases for government bodies and WH&S
• The ability to travel, including to remote areas, as required
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of Indigenous culture, and barriers faced by remote areas.
