THE DEPARTMENT
The Sound and AV department is primarily focused on the professional live presentation of our productions on stage; responsible for the safe operation and care of all of the elements of the productions; and the provision of a conducive environment in which our performers and crews undertake their tasks.
THE ROLE
This fantastic role, reporting to the Technology Manager, will be primarily responsible for assisting and supporting the Sound and AV department during the operatic seasons with technical aspects including but not limited to audio setups and operations, surtitles screen setup and maintenance, video systems as required and performer tracking systems. Sound and AV Operators are also responsible for some limited supervision of contractual staff and equipment, and direct liaison with Audio Designers, co-production partner organisations, and venue staff where our equipment and department may be directly involved.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the supply, installations, programming, maintenance, and accurate documentation theatrical audio and video systems. This role also requires an understanding of materials, processes and techniques relevant to theatrical audio, a flexible and creative approach, great communication and interpersonal skills, and an understanding of Workplace Health and Safety.
