Position Title : Events Officer
Location : Parramatta
Duration : 2 months with potential extension
Availability : Immediate.

Kelly Services is recruiting for an Event Officer for the Local Council in western Sydney. The successful candidate will be working primarily along with the Civic events team. Seeking for candidates available to start immediately for a 8 weeks role with potential extension.

Description:

Assist in delivering high quality civic events on behalf of the Executive team for the local government.

· Assist in preparing reports on budgets for civic events and associated functions, providing information for civic events and associated matters internally and externally..
· Assist the Civic Events and Protocol Coordinator to provide support and advice to the Chief Executive Team and Council staff in the conduct of high qualty civic events.
· Assist the Civic Events and Protocol Coordinator to plan, implement , support and provide regular reports on civic
events and functions such as citizenship ceremonies, flag-raising, and civic receptions.
· In association with other Council departments, coordinate visits from community groups, schools, civic
and business delegations in line with Council’s guidelines.
· Assist the Civic Events and Protocol Coordinator to ensure that the appropriate civic ceremonial and
protocol requirements are adhered to in the conduct of civic events.
· Manage time to balance out-of-hours work requirements and daily work priorities within Council’s
flexible workplace policies. Noting that this position requires occasional work out of hours and on
weekends.
· Driving will be required to undertake duties relevant to the role and to support the Civic Events team.
· Take reasonable care of the health and safety of yourself, staff, visitors, contractors and volunteers
whilst at work, and cooperate with PCC to comply with WH&S legislative obligations.

· Contribute to improved customer service and organisational effectiveness, by acting ethically, honestly
and with fairness

Knowledge :
Qualifications (Level)
· Tertiary qualifications in Event Management, Business Administration or Project Management and/or
willingness to undertake an accredited course.
· Driver’s licence is required.
Experience
· Experience in the field of civic events and/or events in general.
· Proven experience in an events, administration and/or assistant or related role.
Skills
· Demonstrated understanding of civic protocols and related functions.
· Demonstrated ability to effectively and appropriately communicate with a diverse client group at all
levels and act professionally and with discretion.
· High level interpersonal skills.
· High level written and verbal communications skills.
· Ability to forward plan to set goals and achieve these goals.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
