Consumers who are decorating, renovating or building a home are an incredibly engaged market segment, and that’s the market that we specialize in at the Universal Media Co Home Division.  We provide a way for home businesses to target a market of consumers that are engaged in pre-purchase research for impending home projects.  If you are as passionate as we are about getting the marketing mix right, and if you have an interest in the home market, this role gets you talking to some of the most interesting marketers in the home sector.  In this role you will be presenting targeted digital and print marketing solutions to a client base that is ambitious for growth. Our clients are like us - passionate about what they do, looking for opportunity, and keen to uncover new markets.   

 

The Work

If you love hunting new business and dealing with decision-makers then this is the role offers plenty of scope and reward.  You’ll source your own business leads through research, networking or leveraging your existing network, then develop relationships with key stakeholders to help them find value-driven solutions to their marketing needs.  Having decorated, renovated or built a home yourself you’ll know how to describe the market of renovators to marketers who are keen to reach them.

 

In this role you will be...

  • Researching, identifying and securing new relationship leads.
  • Developing new business every single week.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with and increasing the investment of current clients, by identifying new opportunities for growth.
  • Ensuring media inventory is sold by deadline, and optimised to achieve maximum revenues for the company.
  • Preparing and presenting effective sales presentations which will help to develop and manage relationships with key agency groups to secure long term income streams.
  • Using your commercial smarts to develop ‘out of the box’  bespoke opportunities for key customers
  • Maintain a weekly WIP and forecast for report directly to the Publisher

  • Understand a client-focused approach – You will know how to organize a week around client meetings as a priority.
  • Have a proven track record of sales success with Small & Medium Sized enterprises – They comprise 80% of our client base.
  • Enjoy the performance of sales and negotiation.
  • Are personally confident and likeable - the phone is your friend and you are not afraid to pick it up.  You are confident in your ability to describe a marketing concept to business people.
  • Enjoy reading people, understanding what they need, and are able to deliver your solutions in language they understand.
  • Influential and effective writing and communication skills
