ART DIRECTOR // FULL TIME
We’re looking for an intelligent, highly skilled and energetic digital specialist with the commercial acumen and creative flair necessary to produce dynamic content across Grace Publishing’s portfolio of digital and print properties.
Who are we?
Grace Publishing is the most exciting independent media publisher in Australia. Grace relaunched GRAZIA in May 2016 then introduced ICON in April 2018. We’re a young and highly ambitious company already making waves in the industry with our innovative, avant-garde approach to media. We launched grazia.com.au and icon.ink, were appointed the Official Media Partner of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia in 2016, 2017 and 2018, and launched the highest circulating women’s lifestyle print offering in the country. Not bad for a company that’s two years old.
About the Role
Reporting to the Creative Director, our Art Director will closely collaborate with our Creative Services and Client Implementation teams as well as Sales, Editorial and Marketing teams to create and deliver editorial and client-partnered campaigns.
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibility will be to develop and produce campaigns for client projects across the GRAZIA and ICON platforms
- Work with the team to continuously produce innovative and detailed brief responses in a timely manner, demonstrating a deep understanding of both GRAZIA/ICON and the clients brand
- Create, optimise and implement client assets across digital and print platforms
- Ideate and create integrated, cross-platform solutions to clients that deliver positive ROI whilst maintaining strong relationships with clients
- Art administration: optimising images/video; create GIF’s in Photoshop using raw assets; retouching; use InDesign typographic tools for the purpose of template reproduction; CMS admin; basic coding for CMS to upload shoots
- Shoot content in-house, such as product shots for editorial and clients
- Collaborate with editorial to publish innovative social media content
- Produce image content for WeChat platform
- Attend client and prospects meetings with the sales team as required
- Collaborate with internal teams to enable innovation and best practice in the positioning and delivery of solutions for editorial and our clients
- Interstate and intrastate travel for shoots
Skills & Expertise
- Progressive digital media specialist with 3+ years experience in delivering creative client campaigns
- Must be proficient using the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop
- Strong pre-existing contact base of both direct talent and agency relationships within Australia preferred
- Excellent relationship management and superior communication skills, both written and verbal, in a high pressure environment
- Excellent negotiation and shoot budgeting skills preferred
- Experience within a publisher environment preferred with experience working on verticals such as fashion, beauty, culture and lifestyle
- High requirement to take ownership and responsibility for work
