DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the organisation and preparation of materials for Drama, Theatre Studies and Media Studies lessons.
- Assist with ordering and storage of materials in all departmental areas.
- Assist with the coordination of costumes, set, props, sound, lights, music and marketing for shows and classes.
- Be responsible for the ordering, storage, maintenance and cataloguing of technical equipment ie lighting, sound, media, construction tools/materials, sets, props and costumes, relating to the Performing Arts Centre.
- Be responsible for video/audio recordings of class and public performances for analysis/archiving.
- Assist in the coordination of an annual Performing Arts DVD (or equivalent).
- Assist with School Productions and Celebration Evening.
- Assist in the set-up and maintenance of spaces in the Performing Arts Centre (PAC).
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised learning environment that meets the needs of students and teachers.
- Support the development and maintenance of a best practice OH&S culture within the workplace.
- Provide administrative support for the Drama Department.
- Support other school departments in their work with the Drama Department and Performing Arts spaces.
- Work and provide assistance to curriculum based classes across the school.
- Work and provide assistance to co-curricular production rehearsals and other production activities.
- Be prepared to work extra hours during the year to assist with after school events, assemblies and open days.
- Assist and attend Drama incursions and excursions.
- Take the opportunity to contribute to the School in a wider context and in other curriculum and co-curriculum areas.
- Attend and assist on Camps and school wide events as required.
- Undertake some weekend and holiday work, as required. Including 5 days across the Term 1 break (during preparations for the Middle/Senior Years Production).

SELECTION CRITERIA
- A permanent right to work in Australia
- Experience/skills in the Dramatic & Media Arts ie acting, directing, theatre technology
- Technical knowledge/skills in some/all of the following areas – lighting design/programming/operation, media production skills, video projection, set design/construction, sound recording/mixing.
- Good skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, and Q-lab.
- Good interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication
- Enthusiasm, motivation and initiative
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive and professional presentation
- Good customer service skills and the ability to strive for continual improvement

SALARY
As the successful candidate, you will receive:
- National Training Wage Award ($21,500 – $30,000) + 9.5% Superannuation
- Fully funded qualification

People with tertiary qualifications need not apply. Current university applicants may have to defer their studies to be eligible for this traineeship.
Position is best suited to a recent Yr 12 secondary school leaver.
