Take 5 is looking for an Editorial Coordinator to assist with the smooth running of the Take 5 editorial team, from managing reader enquiries to compiling regular weekly sections of the magazine and handling social media responsibilities, while gaining experience in real-life magazines.
As Editorial Coordinator, you will be responsible for the overall administration of the office on a day-to-day basis. A key part of making the mag run smoothly each week, you'll work closely with team members in every department and should have a good working knowledge of staff needs and processes.
This role will also involve compiling sections such as letters and tips pages, and create content that will interest and engage readers. You will be responsible for driving Take 5’s social media presence across all platforms and respond to reader queries via social media.
Key responsibilities:
- Compiling some regular weekly pages for Take 5 and its sister publication in New Zealand, Lucky Break, including editing reader tips and letters to style
- Conducting research and writing for certain sections of the magazine
- Overseeing the day-to-day social media, with guidance from manager
- Uploading website content and scheduling posts using the CMS
- Liaising with readers and case studies
- Some administrative and office assistant duties
- Assisting the Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editor as required
- Managing interns and work experience students
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working in magazines, with an interest in everyday Australians and their stories.
What you will bring:
- Some experience in writing for magazines, newspapers or online
- Previous editorial intern experience
- A degree in Journalism or Communications (or equivalent qualification) is desirable.
- Patience and a positive attitude
- Customer service experience preferred but not required
- Strong ability to multitask and prioritise different jobs
- Social media experience
