Having recently arrived in Australia, they are in the process of putting together a top-notch IT team who can replicate some of the successes they have seem in other locations around the World.
THE ROLE
The role sits within the firm's core development team and will see you design, develop and deliver real-time, ultra-low-latency solutions on a product driven, end-to-end basis. This means you will touch on (and is some cases take responsibility for) the entire tech stack front to back. As such, experience and interest working on a variety of layers and technologies within a SOA is a must.
You will be joining a small (currently 6) team which will grow extensively over the next 12-24 months. As such, experience working in both small/start-up & larger, more structured environments would be beneficial. As would the interest to lead teams/projects as the Sydney office grows.
This will be a fast and lean team with no passengers. Every member will have the ability and opportunity to add significant value and impact to the solutions developed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Extensive (10+ Years) software development experience using a variety of object-oriented languages. Ideally Memory-managed languages (C++ Java, Python, Ruby etc.)
- A demonstrable track record of significant and self-directed contributions to large and challenging IT projects.
- Experience working in real-time, high-thoughput, latency sensitive environments.
- You love technology and want to both work with and advance the state of the art.
- Ability to work well in and lead a high performing technology team. (have confidence with an equal measure of humility).
NICE TO HAVES:
- AngularJS SPA development experience
- MVC-based web architecture exposure
- Knowledge of external RESTful APIs
- Distributed request handling services
- NoSQL and relational SQL databases experience
- Big Data processing knowledge (Data bus architecture, Hadoop / MPP data warehousing)
- Data Visualisation (Tableau)
