About the role
Senior Software Engineer (Big Data, SQL, T-SQL, NoSQL, SSRS, AWS, C++, Angular 6, Java, Python, Node.js) will focus on creating Big Data solutions and assisting R&D development teams develop high quality products our customers want in a timely fashion, while looking for continuous improvement - in quality, process, technology, and ultimately productivity
Senior Software Engineer (Big Data, SQL, T-SQL, NoSQL, SSRS, AWS, C++, Angular 6, Java, Python, Node.js) will have pride in your work efforts, applying effective analysis, design, programming and testing skills to produce releasable customer focussed product iterations.
Senior Software Engineer (Big Data, SQL, T-SQL, NoSQL, SSRS, AWS, C++, Angular 6, Java, Python, Node.js will require:
- 5-8 years professional experience, preferably in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- SQL Server development experience, including:
o knowledge of T-SQL and experience writing queries and stored procedures.
o experience optimising and troubleshooting SQL queries for large data sets.
- 4+ years in performing dimensional data modelling
- 4+ years Microsoft SSRS experience in building reports, including:
- experience optimising and troubleshooting SSRS reports
- Ability to benchmark systems, analyse system bottlenecks and propose solutions to eliminate them.
Desirable skills
- Microsoft Certified (Business Intelligence)
- Proficiency in designing and implementing efficient and robust cloud (AWS) ETL workflows.
- Experience with the major big data solutions like Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive, HBase, MongoDB, Cassandra. Any experience with big data solutions like Impala, Oozie, Mahout, Flume, ZooKeeper and/or Sqoop would be an advantage. You are able to tune Hadoop solutions to improve performance and end-user experience.
- Experience with building stream-processing systems, using solutions such as Storm, Spark-Streaming, Kafka, AWS Kinesis, EventHub.
- Experience in designing solutions for multiple large data warehouses with a good understanding of cluster and parallel architecture as well as high-scale or distributed RDBMS (SQL Data Warehouse and/or AWS Redshift).
- Expert knowledge of different (NoSQL or RDBMS) databases such as MongoDB, HBase, PostgreSQL or SQL Server A firm understanding of major programming and scripting languages like Java, PHP, Ruby, Phyton, C#, C++, Node.JS and R.
- Experience with various messaging systems, such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Good understanding of Lambda Architecture, along with its advantages and drawbacks.
- Experience with MapR.
- Experience in being part of DevOps business model.
- Experience with integration of data from multiple data sources.
- Expertise in various presentation engines (PowerBI, Tableau, YellowFin, etc).
