About the opportunity:

As a Software Engineer at Geoplex you will have the opportunity to work on a large variety of projects, including web and geospatial applications, backend data processing and analytics, cloud dev-ops, and mobile applications. Expect to engage with a diverse client base across the commercial, government and defence sectors.

You will have the freedom to decide which technologies to employ to best meet the customer's needs. You will have the opportunity to make the most of modern technologies including Docker containers, Lambda functions, bespoke databases, and current front-end frameworks like ReactJS and Vuejs.

What will you be involved with:

• Engage in a variety of technical work including system architecture and design, software development, testing and deployment;
• Work in client facing consulting roles providing professional guidance and advice;
• Own the delivery of projects all the way through. We are flexible on the way you work, and receptive to improving standards/process & ways of bringing new ideas to life;
• Help estimate the scope and time required to deliver projects;
• Lead and collaborate with internal and external teams;
• Support internal product development and strategy.

What we expect:

• Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain an AGSVA security clearance;
• Bachelor of IT or equivalent education through your experience;
• Minimum 2 years up to 10+ years of experience.
• Strong architectural pattern knowledge and problem solving;
• Solid experience designing and building web applications, delivering multiple end-to-end technical projects is your thing;
• An intuitive nature, with high levels of curiosity. You love to share your knowledge. Your light bulb is constantly turning on...your neighbour will require a nice pair of sunglasses;
• You enjoy developing and mentoring junior engineers and sharing knowledge;
• Experience with geospatial systems is a bonus.
