Communications & Security Technician

Our Comms / Data / Electrical group offers a breadth of business services – including PBX support, IP Telephony, Hosted PBX, Security, Electrical Contracting and Wireless networking.
Based in Ipswich, we supply and service clients across Ipswich and Brisbane. With over 30 staff, we are well placed to meet the current market demands and those into the future.
We are growing our team and so need another experienced phone system person to join our energetic team.
Your responsibilities
You will be part of a great team and you will:
•Actively participate in the data collection, scoping, build and implementation of IP and traditional telephone systems.
•Work with clients in a pre-sales capacity for scoping of requirements.
•Diagnose Phone system faults and apply rectification works.
•Design, build and project manage the deployment of phone systems.
•Support existing clients with adds, moves and changes to existing systems.
•Liaise with 3rd party vendors eg address any network faults with LAN/WAN infrastructure.
•Manage, maintain and improve phone related management and monitoring systems.
•Configure, modify and monitor host and client systems and infrastructure as required and requested.
Install and repair alarm, access control and CCTV systems
To be successful in this role
•You will have an active working knowledge of traditional and IP based phone systems with experience in traditional digital key systems, hybrid digital / IP systems DECT technologies and multi-site configurations. The main systems we see are Panasonic, NEC, Hybrex and Yeastar.
•You will have an understanding of networking, with skills in switching and routing to complement your work.
•You will have expertise in various phone products and the deployment and servicing of such products, including related call reporting and call recording products.
•You will have a strong working knowledge and understanding of communications technologies such as ISDN, PSTN, and VoIP services.
You will have experience in various alarm, access and CCTV systems
•You will have the ability to work unsupervised and under pressure whilst delivering a high standard of service.
•Maintain a high level of communication skills, both with your team and the client with the ability to communicate at all levels.
