About the business and the role
We are a Central Coast based company specialising in the installation of telecommunications networks for a diverse range of businesses. We also supply, install and maintain telecommunications systems and hardware. Our company services the Sydney, Central Coast and Newcastle areas.
Job tasks and responsibilities
We require a licensed electrician or telecommunications technician for work on upcoming projects.
The responsibilities of the successful applicant will include:
- Onsite work and possible management of commercial and industrial facilities
- Cable installation, termination and testing.
- Possible staff management including other technicians, apprentices and subcontractors
- Ordering and receiving of materials.
- Management of stock levels and minimisation of waste.
- OHS and QA documentation
- Liaising with builders, foremen and project managers during contract works
- Dealing with a wide range of people in all levels of the building/sub-contracting industry
Skills and experience
The successful candidate will possess:
- Experience across a broad range of cabling systems and technologies
- Ability to install terminate and test copper and fibre cable technologies.
- Ability to perform installation and maintenance of commercial and industrial facilities
- Ability to work within a team environment and communicate with staff members
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings
- Be committed and self-motivated, with very good organisational skills
- Good working knowledge of current standards and regulations
- Possess an open cablers licence with endorsements in structured cable and fibre.
- Have a current White Card and preferably hold tickets for confined spaces and working with asbestos.
