Position Overview

System Administrator:

The Systems Administrator (SA) is responsible for proactively managing the installation, configuration & overall support of all Interloc (and its subsidiaries) computing systems. This includes (but not limited to); Messaging platforms, ERP, Cloud hosting platforms and all networking and supporting infrastructure.

The role will include design and implementation changes which will be required to meet new operational/business needs, and to address obsolescence operational functions.

The core focus of the SA is to be a hands-on role with the approach of foreseeing future enhancements to the business and managing these projects accordingly. The SA should be experienced working within teams and also as an individual. Interloc has a unique business platform which will require an SA to have a broad range of skills across a pool of different technology trends.

Role and Responsibilities (System Administrator)

  • Implementation, upgrade and maintain both new and current computing systems for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
  • Manage technical installs and project coordination with vendors and suppliers
  • Perform troubleshooting across LAN/WAN and assisting in Disaster Recovery (DR) testing
  • Manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems
  • Respond to and resolve help desk requests
  • Manage network infrastructure including (but not limited to); Firewalls, NTU's, Routers, Modems, UPS etc
  • Manage all IOT and Smart Handheld devices through-out the organisation
  • Monitor existing systems to ensure structural integrity
  • Oversee and conduct the development and installation of new hardware and software
  • Design, implement and support both new and existing security systems and redundant backups to maintain data safety
  • Write custom scripts to reduce the need for human intervention

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • 6+ years' experience in system engineering and IT support required
  • Proven track record of success in installation and maintenance of Microsoft based software suites and packages (including cloud based solutions)
  • Experience managing SMB systems
  • Strong skills in managing Windows Server & Active Directory environments
  • Experience creating automated scripts and software
  • Proven experience working within virtualised environments (Hyper-V, VMWare)
  • Experience in NAS and SAN infrastructure
  • Understanding and experience working within complex and dynamic network builds
  • Strong knowledge and hands on experience with Office 365 Admin across SharePoint, Exchange Online, Skype for Business etc
  • Well-developed analytical and IT troubleshooting skills
  • Manage time efficiently and effectively with focus on project timelines implementation schedules
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
  • Ability to provide plain language advice on technical issues to non-technical audiences

In addition, the following skills will be favoured upon;

  • Experience managing Microsoft SQL Server framework and related database functions
  • Experience with PABX and VoIP telephony infrastructure solutions
  • Technical documentation writing
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS
  • Cisco based networking devices

Qualifications

The following qualifications will be favoured upon;

  • Bachelor's Degree in the IT field (Computing/Computer Science)
  • Industry certifications in the IT field such as; MCSA/MCSE, CCNA/CCNP, VCP, CompTIA etc
  • Any other industry certifications in neighbouring fields
