Maptek™ is the world leader in developing industry-leading software for mine evaluation, planning, design, scheduling, operation and rehabilitation. Our 3D laser scanning systems are also applied to mining measurement needs in areas requiring high precision such as geotechnical analysis, stockpile volumes, design conformance and movement monitoring. Maptek solutions are sold and supported worldwide through a network of offices in Australia, Africa, North and South America, and Europe. Adelaide is Maptek’s largest R&D office.

BlastLogic™ provides an interactive 3D environment for visualisation, planning and monitoring of the entire mine drill and blast process from initial design through to pre-shot analysis and loading through to post blast performance metrics.

We are growing the Adelaide development team and are looking for a Software Engineer with C# and T-SQL experience. C++ development is also available within the team. As a key developer on BlastLogic, you’ll have the opportunity to work across the full scope of the product including user experience for PC and tablet hardware, complex 3D data processing algorithms, graphical visualisations, server side, cloud computing and more. You will be an integral member and have the full support of the BlastLogic team to undertake this, including the wider Maptek developer community in Adelaide and a global community of users.

Core responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test and improve desktop, tablet and server software

  • Integrate new features in accordance with the software development roadmap to solve real end-user problems

  • Work closely with other Maptek developers both inside and outside the BlastLogic team

  • Work closely with the BlastLogic Product Manager and Technical Services teams

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Bachelor degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent Maths, Science or Engineering degree

  • Proficient in C# and WPF

  • Proficient in T-SQL (Microsoft SQL Server)

  • ASP.NET and Azure experience highly regarded but not essential

  • Python, MSBuild and C++ experience regarded favourably also

  • Organised, accurate, innovative & highly motivated with close attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills & enjoyment working in a team
