We are looking for a System Engineer to join the Sydney-based technology team of a world leading media software manufacturer.
Working within a skilled local team and operating closely with both project and services colleagues, the System Engineer will focus on customer projects including implementation, configuration, testing and commissioning of software solutions plus provide prompt technical support to professional media and broadcast clients in the region.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Support project teams and customers with assigned tasks;
- System implementations, commissioning, bug fixes and upgrades;
- Ongoing documentation and knowledge sharing;
- Timely trouble-shooting of customer problems;
- Remote work plus occasional APAC customer visits.
What we need:
We're looking for a minimum of 3-5 years of IT systems engineering experience gained in customer-facing environments. Ideal background experience includes:
- Tertiary education in an IT discipline;
- Linux administration and scripting experience;
- Exposure to programming in Python or Perl;
- Understanding of XML, JSON, YAML
- Networking fundamentals (protocols, router, switch, storage);
- Use of ticket or issue management tools eg JIRA;
- Good interpersonal, administrative and documentation skills.
- Broadcast or video technology experience highly regarded.
At this stage only applicants with permanent work rights in Australia can be considered for this position.
This is a full-time position located in North Sydney commencing as soon as the successful candidate is available. The role comprises regular Mon-Fri working hours with only occasional out-of-hours requirements. No rostered shift work required.
