My client is a leading financial services provider that offers a stimulating work environment with an opportunity to work on one of their most business-critical projects. About the role:
You'll be a master of the .NET framework with a passion for the web and understand the unique possibilities involved in bringing software to life. You’ll also be comfortable prototyping concepts, iterating ideas and testing hypothesis to build applications that people really want to use. Along the way, you’d be looking for ways to pass along best practice and lessons learned to colleagues. You’ll have your own opinions on approaches to technical problems and be able to concisely articulate the tradeoffs that matter.
Duties:
- Research, investigate, interpret and analyse complex business requirements to specify, design and implement a supportable, effective and efficient solution
- Evaluate existing systems to determinate effectiveness and suggest changes to meet organisational requirements
- Assist the Business Analysts and Technical Analysts to identify innovative or existing solutions to meet business requirements.
- Provide input to other teams within the IT Department as required.
- Understand technology trends and its application to business needs and strategies with an emphasis on innovative use of technology to solve business problems.
- Ensure all work is developed and documented in line with established Enterprise Architecture processes.
- Ensure that IT Policies and standards are current and monitor compliance
- Participate in the early stages of concepts and ideas, products evaluations and business cases
Skills & Experience:
- A solid grounding in solution architecture with strong experience in Microsoft technologies
- Demonstrated skills in architecture and design of solutions using optimal technology components, proven industry standards and design patterns
- Demonstrated knowledge/experience of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Solid experience of working on integration projects
- Sound understanding and knowledge of .NET and web development technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
- Sound understanding of SQL and RDBMS principles
- Financial services industry experience is a definite advantage
