Commercial Analyst -  6 Month Fixed Term Contract with potential to extend

The Alliances Group (TAG) is responsible for delivering sourcing strategies and solutions that enable the delivery of business goals and objectives. They provide leadership and direction for all sourcing activities and approaches within AMP.

About the role

The role of the Commercial Analyst is to support the reviewing, approving and processing of telecommunications and technology queries, requests and orders.

The role will perform high level contract and commercial review with the opportunity to analyse costs and identify cost savings along with ad hoc Project work and broader sourcing activities. 

The position includes interaction with external parties, internal clients and the Tech & Ops Business Unit, including management, so the successful applicant will be a team player and willing to work in a fast-paced and dynamic manner.

The role presents the opportunity to work in a challenging but rewarding environment with exposure to a wide range of activities and stakeholders.

The position also provides the opportunity to drive efficiencies and improvements across both the operational and commercial aspects of the function.

Duties

  • Process telco and related technology queries, quotes and orders
  • Assist Commercial Managers with investigation of end user or other stakeholder issues and queries in relation to managed vendor agreements, invoicing and delivery of services
  • Work towards building expert knowledge in contractual and commercial arrangements for AMPs telco ecosystem and related network infrastructure
  • Actively participate in vendor performance reviews by analysing such as adherence to contractual terms. Performance to SLAs and KPIs, new or altered end user requirements and market changes and their impacts
  • Take ownership of internal customer queries to provide accurate responses in a timely manner.  Escalate where appropriate to relevant Commercial Manager or Senior Commercial Manager
  • Assist with the collection and analysis of data to develop and maintain new and existing vendor agreements and preparation of reports based on this data
  • Support the review of financial and analytical activities, along with the technology being used to drive more value including identification of cost saving opportunities or efficiencies
  • Support the development of commercial strategies relating to sourcing from external vendors to meet commercial/business objectives.

Skills & experience

  • 12 months + experience in Telco or IT sourcing
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet constant deadlines
  • Ability to analyse, evaluate and be creative in solving complex problems including managing conflicting priorities and resourcing
  • Strong written, numerative and verbal skills to communicate with vendors, senior management and other internal customers and stakeholders
  • Work effectively within a team environment with a focus on continuous improvement in all areas of your role

Knowledge of telco networks or other relevant technical knowledge or qualifications strongly desired.
