Our client, a Federal Government department is seeking an experienced Project and Programme Manager to support the delivery of the department’s projects. Largely self-directed, you will play a critical role in managing projects, developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and providing specialist advice to ensure the consistent delivery of project outputs. Providing leadership to a team of project staff, including setting work priorities and managing performance, other responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Develop, manage and implement project plans and schedules in accordance with the department’s project management framework
• Contribute to project design, governance arrangements and operational integration
• Analyse project performance and coordinate quality management to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs
• Ensure project deliverables and milestones are met on time and within budget
• Research, review and evaluate projects in specific operational or technical areas
• Report on project outputs; oversee regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports
• Undertake budget management, monitor expenditure and oversee procurement and contract management
• Identify, assess, manage, escalate, report and monitor project risks, issues and benefits, including developing treatment strategies; and
• Develop staff capability through coaching, mentoring and succession planning

This is a 12-month temporary engagement, based in Brisbane CBD. All applicants must hold Australian Citizenship and a baseline security clearance (highly regarded), or the ability to obtain. These roles are to commence immediately.
