About the Role

Within our high performing IT team, we are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer who will be responsible for supporting our infrastructure ensuring system availability and the maintenance of documentation and evaluation of hardware SOE standards. This role resolves infrastructure support requests and escalates any issues that may affect or risk our operations.  This role is ideal for an experienced IT infrastructure professional looking to take the next step in their career.

Other key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Strategic management to identify areas where infrastructure could be better utilized by the business to improve operational processes
  • Service and support the full scope of helpdesk requests and any escalations points. Apply any software patches, maintain uptime hardware, software and/or infrastructure architecture
  • Develop and improve monitoring process to ensure maximum uptime whilst assisting others in the resource pool of resolving problems
  • Deployment and building of new equipment and all associated documentation
  • Change management in terms of being a gatekeeper of infrastructure (ie. change control) for all hardware and infrastructure software
  • Coordinate with the global IS team to improve processes and incorporate security and asset management processes

In order to succeed in this role you will have:

  • Participation in several infrastructure projects
  • Conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse range of computer literacy levels
  • Knowledge of Windows client/server and desktop environment, and HP server hardware and general PC hardware. 
  • Skills in Microsoft Windows Server; Microsoft Windows workstations; Microsoft Office Professional; hardware and software. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot and correct LAN connection and server connection problems; manage and create a mid-size user group; effectively communicate technical problems and issues in a logical and simple to understand format. 
  • VMware skills
  • Redhat Linux skills will be advantage
