Our client is a digital consulting firm who is looking for an experienced Data Analyst on a migration project for their client. This role is located in the south-eastern suburbs and is an initial 3 month contract with the chance of extension.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake data analysis, mapping, and transformation activities to ensure a successful data migration as part of a systems replacement project, including mapping data from source systems to target systems
- Take ownership of the design, development and testing of all data transformation, extraction and migration activities.
- Perform extracting, importing, and exporting of data in various database applications.
- Perform data analysis of key problem areas to assist in root cause analysis.
- Develop and maintain any technical documentation associated with data analysis, migration, reconciliation, and the related business risks/issues.
- Use effective and efficient data analysis strategies for communicating with business stakeholders (who may not have a technical background) in a timely manner.
Skills & attributes:
- Ability to take a consultative approach, to understand client requirements and offer ongoing support.
- Ability to work independently
- Documentation skills required for producing data mapping / migration / transformation and other project documentation.
- Experience with source to target data mapping and data transformation rules required to migrate the data from the source systems.
- Demonstrated experience working in data migration, ETL processes, data cleansing and validation on medium scale ERP programs.
- Proven experience in Data Quality assessments and Data Mapping.
- Significant experience with data analysis and migration.
- Experience mining data using Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Knowledge of complex data extraction, transformation, and data loading techniques.
- Medium enterprise data migration experience.
- Experience in working within a retail environment will be highly regarded.
