IT Business Analyst

General Motors Financial is expanding into Australia with headquarters based in Port Melbourne. To support the new operations, we are looking for a highly-experienced Business Analyst to become a new member of the IT team.

You will be part of a “greenfield” expansion and taking part in the foundation of GM Financial in Australia which will provide many opportunities.

About the role:

In this position, you will report to the local IT Manager and form part of his/her new IT team as one of the original members. The Australian Business Analyst’s role is to help end users with the operation and functionality of software applications used within the company.  The Business Analyst will develop an extensive knowledge of the applications he or she supports in order to assist and coach end users on the best way to approach their work within the applications.

General Motors is one of the largest companies in the world and GM Financial’s greenfield expansion into Australia will see you exposed to local Australian business as well as developing yourself internationally as the business will be strongly supported from overseas.

Your general duties will be:

• Answers queries and resolve issues with software applications; Train users on specific applications and functions.
• Performs certain aspects of systems design and implementation, including configuration of software functionality, testing, and change management of approved changes.
• Works to evaluate software packages to identify if they meet and support the business requirements including the creation of gap analysis.
• Works with external vendors and development teams to ensure requirements are understood, developed and delivered in accordance with business expectations while supporting and facilitating all aspects of the full change life cycle including, but not limited to testing, deployment and post transition activities.
• Conducts or coordinates user acceptance, performance stress, regression and integration testing; makes changes and corrections as needed.

What you bring:

• Proven track record of developing and delivering business requirements, business process design and functional design.
• Key involvement with various aspects of the requirements gathering and design as well as end-to-end testing cycles.
• Ability to communicate and manage expectations of key stakeholders at all levels within the organization.
• International environment experience working in international and virtual teams would be desirable.
• Degree qualified or equivalent IT experience.
