Software Engineer -Claims Technology

• Provide systems analysis, design, development, maintenance for Suncorp’s Claims management application.
• Reporting to the Delivery manager you will Support the application software by analysing and fixing problems.

The Role:

The purpose of this role is for a skilled Software Engineer to work with a talented team in a high-performance culture in the Claims Domain.  Your role is to provide systems analysis, design, development, maintenance & ongoing support for Suncorp’s Claims management applications. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse system requirements and develop technical design
• Develop and maintains application software
• Conform to quality assurance standards and agreed processes within the department
• Support the application software by analysing and fixing problems as required
• Perform unit and integration testing on developed code

Skills & Experience:

• Good working knowledge in:
  • A relational database management system
  • Appropriate programming language/s.
  • Appropriate software development tools.
  • Agile development methodologies, practices and principles across full software development lifecycle
  • Change management practices in a parallel development environment.
  • Job scheduling software for the smooth operation of batch type jobs.
• Good working knowledge of the appropriate operating system environment and its related tools and utilities.
• Java, GScript, JIRA, Confluence, Haml, Source control systems, Continuous integration tools
