Background

The role of Database Developer is to provide integration and database management services related to the delivery of effective, accessible, user-centred information systems and reporting environments, in particular the development of electronic letters generated from within the ESM module of ieMR. 

Key duties and responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain range of consumer/-patient electronic letters to meet the business needs of outpatient services within the Health Service.
• Complete documentation specifications and undertake planning and testing of the solution.
• Engage clients to determine business needs and develop project proposals and user requirements.
• Compile concise procedures and documentation on the operation of the e-letter solution.
• Work closely with other team members to pre-empt and solve issues from existing information system implementations.
• Write regular reports detailing current and completed work priorities explaining requirements and outcomes of project work.
• Actively contribute to maintaining a safe workplace that values the health and safety of co-workers, clients or visitors.
• Actively contribute to developing and maintaining a culture where staff are vigilant to risks to themselves, their co-workers, clients or visitors (including health and safety, business and operational risks).
• Actively participate in the Health Service Performance Planning and Appraisal and Individual Development Planning processes.
