Our Client, a large financial institution is seeking to appoint a number of DevOps Engineers to join the existing team on a contract basis.

As part of the Digital team, reporting into the Digital Infrastructure Manager, you will ensure technical architecture is designed, setup and maintained to enable everything to run smoothly.

To be successful, it’ll be your job to be a DevOps expert using modern DevOps practices with a strong emphasis on analysis, design and hands on support.

Mentoring and sharing knowledge with the more junior members in the team is also desired to uplift the team’s capability.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and advance the teams DevOps capability
• Create innovative solutions to business problems and technical issues
• Create clear and concise technical documentation on DevOps patterns
• Design. Code, test and install application programs using either Java, JavaScript, Objective C or Python to a high standard and re-usable
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with different areas of the business internally including project teams, systems support, digital teams, security, architecture and externally with Apple, Amazon, Adobe and Oracle
• Be part of the infrastructure lifecycle, with rostered on call duty outside f business hours for application releases, patching cycles, incident response and disaster recovery exercises.

Selection criteria:

• Australian citizen or permanent residency essential
• 5 years + experience as a DevOps Engineer with ability develop and advance the teams capability
• Strong Cloud asset management experience on AWS and CI/CD on Jenkins.
• Polished open source language skills and strong knowledge of RDMS
• Comfortable working in complex technical situations accompanied by a high level approach to problem solving
