Our Managed Services team (VMS) is growing massively, having expanded by 5-6 engineers over the past 6 months, we're looking to add to the team with a SecOps/Security Support Engineer.

This role will work well for someone who either comes from a traditional System Engineering background, managing AD or Director Federation Services, or someone already in the security space.

This is not your traditional support team - the role is about 50% BAU, 50% build. We want people who are natural tinkerers, go looking (and know where to look) for problems and has the confidence and knowledge to function as an SME.

What you'll be doing

  • Take responsibility and ownership of the end to end management of all level 3/4 IAM support queries - be the first and last call
  • Maintain a high standard of documentation
  • Work closely with the Senior Engineers in the provision of application support
  • Take a proactive approach to support - finding and fixing rather than waiting for the tickets
  • Functioning as a trusted advisor to the client and help to maintain a strong relationship with key stakeholders

Requirements


The 'must haves':

  • Understand Identity and Access Management principles and practices
  • Good all-round understanding of the Internet and internal web technologies (AD, DNS, DHCP, Load Balancers, Firewalls, CAs, Webservers, HTTP)
  • Ability to identity, troubleshoot and resolve issues in a live production environment, without buckling under pressure
  • Have previous experience in a similar role within the security/IAM field
  • Have experience monitoring distributed system application architectures
  • Ability to read and understand code (preferably Java)
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to learn quickly, have a true passion for technology

Desirable

  • Knowledge and/or hands on experience with IAM software (we use Ping, Sailpoint and CA API/Layer 7)
  • Practical experience with OAuth and SAML
  • Ability to code/script

Salary package is completely dependent on experience, comprising of a base + super + on-call.
