Our client is one of Australia's largest utilities distributor. They are currently looking for a Senior Java Developer to assist the team on migration/uplift program. As a Senior Java Developer, you will work within a DevOps and Linux (RedHat) environment and work with JBoss, TomEE, and Grails.

• Melbourne CBD Location
• Initial 4 Month Contract

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Migrate native SQL embedded into Java source code from Oracle to SQL Server 2012 dialect including functions, views and stored procedures
• App server uplift/change from JBoss 5 to either of TomCatEE
• EJB 2.0 -> EJB 3.2 to take advantage of JEE 7 simplified configuration and deploy web apps instead of .ear
• Update Maven configuration to package and deploy to the target app server
• Migrate Struts 1.1 - based Web apps from Session EJB's 2.0 to EJB 3.2 annotations and fix unit & integration tests if required
• Migrate Grails web app (old version 2.1.1) to run on the target app server as above
• CI / CD: automate deployment to managed environments using Bamboo, Maven and shell scripts as required
