We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to work as part of the Business Delivery team to support the review of Insurance processes and their interactions with technology systems, working with business and Technology, Data and Labs personnel to develop requirements that support the Suncorp strategy.  The size, complexity and number of concurrent projects will vary. This exciting role assists projects to define requirements and processes and supports the delivery of projects across the Insurance function.  The Senior Business Analyst also works closely with stakeholders (sometimes in complex and unfamiliar environments) using appropriate methods to understand true business needs and elicit requirements, and be a trusted advisor and advocate for the Insurance business.

Key responsibilities:    

• Requirements elicitation, using various methodologies (such as interviews, facilitating requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, vendor assessments etc) and collaborating closely with key business stakeholders and subject matter experts
• Requirements documentation, including process mapping and modelling (As-Is and To-Be), artefact management, and Standard Operating Procedures/training material/communication development
• Critically evaluating information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true business needs
• Identification and implementation of industry best practices (processes, tools, technology) to drive high-quality results throughout business analysis activities
• Identification and mitigation of issues or risks; act as an escalation point for day-to-day tasks and project issues
• Assist the business prioritise high level business requirements, recommending options, providing cost benefit analysis and solution option development
• UAT planning and management/oversight
• Developing relationships and building confidence to become a trusted advisor to key business stakeholders.
• Actively coach and mentor junior BAs to understand and become proficient in process modelling, project management practices and principles, and build an awareness of Business Analysis standards.
• Active involvement as an expert in a Community of Practice, championing Business Analysis standards and integrating BABOK tools and techniques

 Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years’  of extensive experience as a Business Analyst across multiple business areas and technical domains (Insurance industry preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years Insurance industry experience is mandatory
• CBAP or above accreditation preferred
• Previous experience working on system implementation projects is desirable
• Experience coordinating and overseeing the work of other BAs, including mentoring others and contributing to a Business Analysis Community of Practice
• Experience working on complex projects and programs of work including multiple integrated systems and across functions
