The Role
The Voice Operations Engineer’s role and function can be summarised as follows:
- Provide assistance and troubleshoot escalated VoIP tickets
- Provide technical support to other groups where required, on both, ad hoc and project focussed basis
- Development and execution of test plans to meet any of the development initiatives
- Development of change request and implementation plans
- Perform software upgrades and patches and confirm satisfactory operation of software changes and release
- Create software documentation, network diagrams and user guides etc
The Person to be considered for this position the candidate will require:
Experience
- Demonstrated knowledge in ICT technologies and architectures
- Appropriate telecommunications qualifications or experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- To be a team player that is reliable, has a willingness to learn and take ownership of projects
Skills
- Metaswitch and Broadsoft skills highly desirable
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- SBC and Core switching experience
- Thorough SIP knowledge and experience
- IP routing and switching knowledge and understanding
- Basic knowledge of Linux command line and system diagnostic
