VidCorp is looking for a skilled, confident and friendly person to join the existing team of highly skilled and driven developers.
About The Position
Reporting directly to the Development Team Leader, the role involves working on an existing platform to enhance and develop new functionality, complete ongoing maintenance to the platform and infrastructure as well as assist with third party integrations. You will also work closely with Head of Product and sales to deliver customer focused solutions.
About You

You must have experience with MySQL and PHP, worked with PHP framework’s, and with systems that handle offline/asynchronous job processing requiring high throughput for bulk operations.
The VidCorp team has developed a varied and multifaceted system. Your work will include handling items such bulk SMS and Email message delivery, Website building, video transcoding, API development and more.
You will be required to ‘wear many hats’ across the business and will be required to work after hours and on weekends if necessary.
Critical skills necessary:
- MySQL
- PHP
- Git / source control
- PHP MVC Frameworks (CodeIgniter, Slim, Symphony)
Other skills we look favourable on:
- Product development experience
- MQ Systems (AMQ/RabbitMQ)
- SMS Gateways (SMPP)
- Online payment/billing/invoicing experience (Stripe, Xero)
- Unix command line experience
- Experience in the AWS ecosystem (VPC’s, EC2, RDS, Autoscaling rules, SDK usage)
- HTML5, CSS3
The key responsibilities for this position:
- Work with front and backend developers across a number of development tasks as required from new feature development through to maintenance, scaling and business support tool development.
- Ongoing refinement and expansion of our of communication platform and infrastructure.
- Design/Development of API endpoints, and integration with external system API’s.
- Analysis and troubleshooting of products in both production and non-production environments.
Also;
- Appropriate Tertiary Education
- 2 years experience is preferable with Web development using PHP/PHP5 and MySQL,but more important is your desire to learn and achieve outcomes.
- Knowledge and understanding of various of design patterns
- Understanding of the full SDLC, and ability to work in an Agile team.
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Must be an Australian Permanent Resident / Citizen (Essential)
