Support Technician

 

General Motors Financial is expanding into Australia with headquarters based in Port Melbourne. To support the new operations, we are looking for a highly-experienced Support Technician to become a new member of the IT team.

You will be part of a “greenfield” expansion and taking part in the foundation of GM Financial in Australia which will provide many opportunities.

About the role:

In this position, you will report to the local IT Manager and form part of his/her new IT team as one of the original members. The Australian Support Technician will provide technical support, via phone, email, on-site and other means of communication to all GMF employees. Will assist in the installation, configuration and diagnoses of all hardware / software related issues for centre users and to determine proper solution / course of action / root cause.

The role is designed to maximize operational efficiencies associated with service management and to deliver quick responses to our customers.

General Motors is one of the largest companies in the world and GM Financial’s greenfield expansion into Australia will see you exposed to local Australian business as well as developing yourself internationally as the business will be strongly supported from overseas.

Your general duties will be:

  • Be readily available to answer phone calls, emails and other means of communication to all GMF employees in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Provide timely resolution to technical hardware and software support issues while following company standards.
  • Log and monitor all incidents to aid in identifying potential problem trends.
  • Complete internal IT requests as required, e.g. server / router checks, etc
  • Potentially support new GMF IT deployments across the various geographical locations.
  • Maintain a high degree of customer service for all support requests.

What you bring:

  • A strong focus on service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Personal Integrity / Discretion
  • Has the ability to provide Level 1, 2 IT support with aptitude for Level 3 support as well.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems and suites
  • An understanding (or ability to learn) of the Business Applications that will be supported in Auto Finance business
  • Advanced working knowledge of ITSM platform (Service Now)
