Bluefin are recruiting a DevOps Specialist with a big data background for a client in Melbourne who are undergoing a major digital transformation.

You will work under general direction as a member of the Technical Team in the Project Delivery function of Hadoop Delivery Support; Design, Build and implement and support robust Cloudera Hadoop Big Data platforms for customers.


To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Relevant years’ experience as a developer with an Object Orientated language, preferably Java
• Experience on Linux with in-depth administration, file system and permission model experience
• Knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), SQL and database concepts
• Experience in data warehousing concepts, filesystems and data structures.
• Understanding of networking and distributed systems.
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.

Further Technical Requirements

• Cloud services - AWS, GCP or Azure (preferred)
• CI / CD pipelines - Jenkins, TeamCity, Bamboo, VSTS (preferred)
• Source Code Management (Git/GitHub)
• Virtual Machines - Linux, Windows
• Monitoring & Logging, log aggregation, debugging tools, performance tools
• Serverless Data Ingestion, Processing and Storage Architectures Containers - Docker, Kubernetes etc
• Development and/or Administration experience of SMP or MPP RDBMS
