Currently an opportunity exists in our IT Team for a Junior Systems Administrator based at our headquarters in Truganina.
About the role
Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, this role will be acting as an initial escalation point for the Level 1 Helpdesk team. You will be troubleshooting a variety of day to day issues and working to solve them as quickly as possible. You will also work closely with the Systems Administrators to monitor and maintain various systems and help to ensure that internal standards are adhered to.
Responsibilities will include;
- Provide an immediate escalation point for 1st level technical support.
- Logging and maintaining incidents and service requests within the Service Desk software.
- Taking ownership of incidents and requests to an end resolution and ensure users are kept up to date on their status throughout the process.
- Assist Senior System Administrators with maintaining and deploying server-based systems
- Assisting with Level 1 calls during busy periods
- Participate in after hours on call support roster
Required Skills and Experience;
- MCSE / MCSA / MCITP equivalent certification
- Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal including a professional phone manner and the ability to explain technical issues using non-technical language
- 2 – 4 years’ experience in the following areas;
- Fault finding and problem diagnosis across a range of connected platforms and systems.
- A range of operating systems from Windows 7 to Server 2016
- Working in an open plan fast paced team environment
- Large multi-site, multi-domain systems infrastructure.
- Virtualisation and cloud-based systems
