Client Details

Our client is a well-funded start-up organisation based in Brisbane’s south-side. They are already a well-regarded service provider for online education, providing various types of courses and content to small and large businesses, government departments and individuals. As business is growing rapidly they are looking to bring on a Senior Developer to help drive the team towards great things. Over the next few months they plan to double the on-site IT team, which currently comprises 7.

Description

Key responsibilities for the Senior Developer:

• Collaborate with a top quality team of engineers to implement new product features to support business objectives.
• Deliver production ready solutions by working across the full technology stack, with a focus towards back-end design and development.
• Drive and champion test-driven development (TDD).
• Mentor and lead team members where appropriate, and drive and advocate continuous learning.
• Ensure continuous integration and continuous delivery is adhered to across the team for build and deployment processes.

Profile

Experience and skills that the team are looking for:

• Extensive experience as a Software Engineer in an agile environment, with demonstrated progression towards a senior level in a team.
• Hands-on experience working on a SaaS software product would be a distinct advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute towards software architecture, and team leadership and strategic duties.
• Experience building REST based APIs from design through to production, implementation and integration support.
• Familiar with a devops culture and CI/CD build and deployment processes.
• Understanding of microservices/SOA design principles.
• Solid experience with PHP and associated frameworks.
• Experience with one or more languages/frameworks including Angular, React, Javascript or Golang.
• Exposure to AWS services (i.e. RDS Aurora, EC2, ECS, ElastCache) would be beneficial.
• Willing to learn and mentor other developers to achieve exceptional results.
• Strong initiative and proactive nature. Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Excellent communication skills, and comfortable liaising with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of a business.
