Located in our South Melbourne office, a vacancy exists for an Helpdesk Application Support. This role will manage the day to day maintenance operations of the Wholesale systems and applications.

The role will also be responsible for the ongoing management of existing relationships with third party clients, responsible for establishing and fostering effective working relationships with HLO Group customers in order to cultivate an environment that inspires people to embrace change, encourage innovation and empower others in relation to e-commerce solutions.

This role is primarily responsible for providing 1st and 2nd level support to our wholesale systems and applications users, as well as providing 1st level support for many XML and 3rd party clients and partners around the world.

Supporting the General Manager Global Sales and Marketing, the successful candidate will:

  • Develop strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure client queries and correspondence are addressed and responded in a timely manner
  • Accept, log and manage to resolution all incidents related to Wholesale system and application
  • Identifies and meets client’s needs by continual research of client expectations
  • Research, analyse and recommend ways of improving operations, products and services offered to customers
  • Liaise with Business Systems and Applications and other Helloworld Travel Group departments and external customers to determine system requirements
  • Identify potential enhancements and improvements to Helloworld Travel Group web sites and applications
  • Liaise with other application designers/developers and managers to develop Technical Specifications
  • Assist in the design, implementation and maintenance of new standards and procedures
  • Design and implement robust and scalable database schemas to support web applications
  • Database programming, maintenance and performance tuning
  • Coordinate upgrades to systems and environments
  • Other duties as assigned by the General Manager Global Sales and Marketing

We're looking for someone with:

  • Strong service delivery skills
  • Bilingual fluency in both English and Asian language highly desirable 
  • Advanced PHP certification or similar PHP experience
  • At least 3 years commercial web development experience
  • Web system integration with central reservation systems
  • Previous experience in an application support environment
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Experience mentoring application support analyst
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field highly desirable
  • Previous travel industry experience highly desirable
  • Ability to meet Corporate and Divisional/Departmental Service Standards
