DWS is looking for an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to work as part of our growing Cloud Computing Team in delivering capabilities to our Australian Government customers.
  
We are looking for highly-motivated engineers with a real passion for cloud computing, and the ability to identify new possibilities for and uses of cloud platforms within our existing and new Government customers.
  
The successful candidate will work as part of a high-performing team including a Cloud Solutions Architect, Business Analysts, Infrastructure Specialists and other Engineers.
  
The Role:

• Designs, plans, and integrates AWS cloud computing and virtualisation systems using modern cloud-native deployment techniques such as DevOps and DevSecOps
• Designs, deploys and operates highly available, scalable and fault tolerant AWS systems
• Develops and conducts testing of cloud and virtualisation systems
• Develops automation scripts for efficient deployment and operations of cloud and virtualisation systems
• Provides support to engineering activities such as: Concept of Operations Formulation, Requirements Definition, System Architecture, System Analysis and Design, Interface and Data Architectures, System & Op. Performance Analysis, and Decision Analysis
• Writes Cloud Formation Templates (CFT) in YAML and JSON
• Deploys applications to their respective environments using AWS Elastic Beanstalk
• Builds with tools like ANT, MAVEN, JIRA, VSTS in a team environment

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• BA/BS engineering or related IT, System Engineering, or STEM degree
• 10+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or related
• 3+ years of experience in AWS cloud architecture, operations, DevOps, or administration
• 2+ years of experience with cloud automation and scripting
• Experience in version control and source code management tools (GIT, SVN, TFS)
• Working knowledge of web servers such as IIS, Tomcat, JBOSS, Apache, Websphere, Weblogic or nginx

Additional Requirements:

• As this is a security assessed position, Australian Citizenship is required
• A current Australian Government security clearance is preferred, with the ability to apply for and maintain a clearance to NV1 required
