Business Domain Architect - Supply Chain
Role Purpose:
Translate supply chain strategy, practices and processes into supply chain architecture to enable delivery of appropriate solutions.
Using architectural models or views that show how the current and future needs will be met in an efficient, sustainable, agile, and adaptable manner.
Deliver and update supply chain architecture that supports the most efficient and secure IT environment meeting business needs.
Ensure clarity of how technology underpins supply chain and business strategy. Act as a Lead Architect for assigned projects, initiatives and for their domains.
Responsbilities of Supply Chain Architect
- Create Supply Chain architecture strategy and contribute insights to establishing and reviewing the enterprise architecture
- Ensures the business obtains the greatest value from technology
- Establish policy and strategy for the selection of systems architecture components
- Lead the development of supply chain architectures for complex systems, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external, and internal customers
- Manage the target design, policies and standards, ensures consistency to architecture of design across projects within the program
- Manage & coordinate resources to define optimal business innovation through technology
- Engage directly with Business Partners and IT teams to identify benefits of potential changes to architecture and ensure these are captured and monitored
- Undertake architecture impact analysis on major design options and assess and manage associated risks
- Assist in development of domain architecture advice on technical aspects of system development, business process, estimation and integration
- Translate business and domain strategies into architecture that is technically feasible and commercially viable
- Ensure that solutions align with domain and enterprise architectures
- Engage the governance process to effectively manage deviation to strategy
- Apply technology trends as relevant for Supply Chain innovation
Qualification & Knowledge:
- Bachelors or Post Graduate qualification in IT or Computer Sciences
- Deep knowledge of architecture practices and principles
- Certification in IT architecture frameworks i.e. TOGAF, Zachman
- Conversant in development methodologies (such as RUP, CMMI, and Agile)
- Supply Chain Domain technology expertise essential
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years in the industry as a practicing architect
- Experienced in stakeholder management and developing deep relationships
- Delivery of effective IT governance and risk management
- Proven success in realising value through the implementation of architecture strategy, roadmaps, tools and frameworks
- Value delivery (innovation, reduce cost, efficiency, improved information flows) through the design of technical solutions or promotion of shared infrastructure and applications
- Exposure to projects of varying scope and scale on a range of technology platforms
