The Current Opportunity

The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for providing proactive and reactive ICT support to maintain the availability and reliability of Superloop’s customers’ core infrastructure and Superloop’s Managed Services offerings. This includes supporting and maintaining the Superloop hosting infrastructure to deliver services to both our customers and internal business units.

In conjunction with the broader Managed Services team, the Systems Engineer is responsible for the timely action of internal and external incidents/requests within agreed service levels whilst maintaining accurate and timely updates to technical documentation. They will also be responsible for the delivery of both internal and external projects when required.

As Senior Systems Engineer, you will

  • Manage and resolve core technology incidents and requests for Superloop customers.
  • Liaise with customers, third party organisations, and internal stakeholders to ensure maximum availability of a customer’s environment.
  • Administer and manage customer infrastructure services, such as backups, restores, anti-virus and other service offerings.
  • Administer and manage Superloop’s Managed Services infrastructure.
  • Operate and perform duties within company and customer policies, processes and agreements.
  • Escalate technical problems within escalation procedures and timelines.
  • Identify and address concerns to proactively mitigate issues and downtime.
  • Deliver on, and contribute to internal and external projects.

About you

The successful applicant will possess:

  • 5+ years experience within an ICT support role.
  • Experience and a high degree of aptitude with the following technologies:

Essential:

  • Windows Server 2008 / 2008 R2 / 2012 R2 / 2016.
  • Exchange 2010 / 2013 / 2016.
  • Office 365
  • IIS / Apache / Tomcat.
  • MSSQL
  • Remote access tools.
  • Linux / UNIX experience (Debian, Redhat, Suse).
  • VMware ESXi 5.0/5.5/6.0.
  • SAN Storage (HP StoreVirtual, 3PAR etc)
  • Cloud / Infrastructure Management
  • Enterprise level backup suite, such as Backup Exec 2010 / 2016, NetBackup, Vranger, Zerto, VEEAM etc.

Desired Technologies:

  • MS System Center Suite, specifically Config Manager and Operations Manager.
  • Monitoring Systems.
  • HyperV-MCP (Virtualisation Administrator).
  • VMWARE View Administrator or other VDI Suite.

 

  • CCA-V – Citrix certification highly regarded.
  • MCSE/MCSA certification highly regarded.
  • Excellent written and verbal/telephone skills, including documentation experience.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Time management skills, including reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to work autonomously, and part of a team.
  • Passion to continuously develop knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to professionally and appropriately communicate and manage internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the business.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills to develop junior team members.
  • Ability to build relationships, work collaboratively with, and gain the trust of both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate and communicate to a variety of stakeholders on technical matters.
