Our Large Federal Government client is currently seeking the services for a "Microsoft Technical Expert with vast experience in Power BI implementations” for a contract based in Canberra.
 
Expert will controbute in development of system requirements, technical design and then coding and configuration of Microsoft Power BI to work with other legacy systems and applications.
 
 
Role:
 
1) Work with business and ICT stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements.
2) Provide technical advice around possible design options.
3) Evaluate existing technical implementations to understand existing functionality.
4) Develop and document detailed technical designs in the form of user specifications and technical specifications.
5) Configure a Power BI implementation to demonstrate the ability for the tool to:
o Integrate with multiple databases and systems using web services.
o Produce various types of data visualisation e.g. dashboards, static reports, etc.
o Provide predictive analysis and data mining of integrated data sets.
6) Work collaboratively with existing technical and non-technical staff, internal and external to the branch, to ensure successful configuration as described above.
 
Skills Required:
 
1) The expert will be required to gather business and technical requirements and configure Power BI to produce required reports.
2) The technical expert will have at least 5 years' experience working with Microsoft platforms at the enterprise level.
3) Demonstrated high level experience as a Microsoft expert in large and complex, enterprise environments (preferably with Federal Government organisations).
4) Previous experience developing and implementing new applications within a large organisation.
5) Previous experience working in Australian government Department preferred.
6) Demonstrated ability to write technical specifications and design documents.
7) Previous experience engaging various business and ICT stakeholders through various channels such as workshops and meetings etc.
8) Previous experience configuring Microsoft Power BI.
