Our large client is seeking an experienced Lead FTTX Designer to Lead a team of 10+ Planning and Design engineers. Positions available in Melbourne & Sydney. 

The Role:

• End to end Design in FTTN/FTTP developments
• Preparing complex drawings and documents using MapInfo
• Editing and updating designs to reflect modifications and additions.
• Reviewing drawings and designs to ensure adherence to standards.
• Following established  standards in regards to layering, dimensioning, text annotations, and other aspects of MapInfo usage.
• Reviewing existing MapInfo drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
• Editing, reworking, and updating CAD drawing files as required by network changes, modifications, additions, etc.
• Manage the team of SME's aligned, if any, for the project & manage project resource allocation
• Provide direction and support to team including quality assurance
• Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
• Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
• Experience in at least 2 access technologies
• Experience of field coordination and vendor escalations
• Deep Knowledge o Planning and Designing of FTTC and FTTB Networks using MapInfo and AutoCAD
• End to end delivery services including Detail Design in MapInfo, FIR, Construction Plans, Project Costing (BOM/BOQ)

Experience
 

• 5+ years' experience in the Telecommunications Industry.
• Extensive experience with Mapinfo
• nbn FTTx Design experience
• End to end Design in FTTN/FTTP developments
• Preparing complex drawings and documents using MapInfo
• Editing and updating designs to reflect modifications and additions.
• Reviewing drawings and designs to ensure adherence to standards.
• Following established  standards in regards to layering, dimensioning, text annotations, and other aspects of MapInfo usage.
• Reviewing existing MapInfo drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
• Ability to create new designs from client brief / high-level design document.
• Ability to read and interrupt as constructed drawings.
• Knowledge of telecommunications typical Schedule of Rates and their application.
• Knowledge of current Australian standards.
• Effective time management skills and interest in working in a team environment.
• Knowledge of Telstra Pit and Pipe networks.
