The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of Solution Design, the Solution Architect supports change projects, ensuring that business, architectural and risk objectives are consistently met, acting as an important link between the change and risk needs of the organisation and the Solution Delivery team.
This role is responsible for leading an initiative to replace an existing inhouse developed application. Duties involve investigating alternative solutions including solutions by external vendors as well as inhouse developed options. The successful candidate will be required to help extract and shape requirements, solution design that adheres to established design principles and the Technology Roadmap as well vendor management.
Position Requirements
Essential
- Excellent communication skills to all levels of an organisation.
- Relationship builder with excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Extensive experience with selecting, designing, and implementing technology solutions.
- Vendor selection and management through the procurement process
- Proven experience managing and participating in projects through the entire project lifecycle.
- Strong experience in Infrastructure and Application Development architecture.
- 3-5+ years’ experience in Solution Architecture.
- Experience in software development.
- Experience in SQL Server (and T-SQL).
- Strong knowledge of web architectures, cloud architectures and APIs used to build modern business and consumer applications.
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure systems, Virtualisation, Networking, Security, Cloud, SAAS
Desirable
- Architecture certification (TOGAF certified or similar)
- MCSD certification or similar
- Excellent understanding of project management methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle including Waterfall, AGILE, KANBAN etc.
- Experience in mid-tier and large enterprise.
