Your role
As part of Saab Australia’s Security & Risk team, the Information Security Specialist (IRAP) will provide expert information security advice and services to support and develop the Security & Risk line of business with external customers focusing on Saab’s growing IRAP activities. The Information Security Specialist (IRAP) will also provide expertise and take a lead role in supporting and defining Saab internal project activities where required to help protect and improve Saab’s information security posture and competitive advantage.

Key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Assisting in identifying profitable business opportunities that align with the Saab Australia’s Business Plan;
  • Gathering and disseminating intelligence on customer and competitor intentions;
  • Participating in tendering work and on occasion take on the role of Tender Manager to secure Security & Risk projects/services contracts;
  • Assisting Saab’s Business Units in providing specialist information security advice and assistance in tenders and other project activities.
  • Providing assistance and support to Saab Australia’s internal operations and environments as well as external projects with Security & Risk related deliverable systems for conformance to required accreditations and satisfy the requirements of company security policies;
  • Directly engaging with customers and undertaking actual hands on activities required to generate revenue.
  • Taking the lead role in Saab’s industry involvement in key projects, such as SEA1000, SEA5000 and others as they arise
  • Providing Information Security risk advice across the Saab organisation and client base
  • Liaising and maintaining working relationships with key partners, vendors and manufacturers;
  • Maintaining and developing customer relationships through successful engagements, industry events, and marketing.


Your skills and experience
Essential:

  • Strong experience in the collection, presentation and analysis of information;
  • Broad knowledge and experience across various information security domains and technologies;
  • Understanding of Security Architecture Design.
  • Thorough understanding on the Information Security Manual (ISM), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), Defence Security Manual (DSM)/Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) and other security policy documents;
  • Experience in the end-to-end security project life cycle - defining security requirements, high level architecture, detailed design & implementation;
  • Experience performing security risk assessments;
  • Demonstrated ability to apply security frameworks, policies and standards into operational context and provide practical advice based on them;
  • Proven ability in thinking laterally, identifying risks and applying analytical skills to develop appropriate options for integrated security controls;
  • Experience in establishing service or security management systems and continuous improvement programs;
  • Industry certifications from: CISSP; CISA; CISM; CRISC; ISO 27001.
  • Experience working in and/or with classified defence industry environments;
  • Must be an Australian citizen and able to meet citizen eligibility requirements to comply with Defence Industry security requirements.

Desirable:

  • IRAP industry certification (if not currently certified for IRAP, then must have willingness to gain certification within 3-6 months).
  • Certification and accreditation of Defence or Government ICT systems.
