The Infrastructure Solution Architect will play a key role providing architectural and thought leadership across our technology landscape. My client has a state of the art data centre for our hosting combined with a strategy to move to the cloud as part of our target state.

 
This is a new role that requires you to have an enterprise view that requires extensive engagement across a number of IT teams as well as business stakeholders so strong leadership and communication skills are essential. The position will call for significant people leadership skills and ability to engage and work with key vendors. The ideal person with have a blend of technical understanding from Data Centres, Cloud, Security, Networks, Voice, DR etc.
 

The successful candidate will have the following skills, experience and knowledge:

• Experience in Enterprise Architecture Repositories ie. iServer
• Strong understanding of VMware, HyperV, KVM hypervisors. Experience with cloud platforms including OpenStack, Azure and AWS
• Experience with configuration management platforms like Ansible, Puppet, and Chef as well as scripting languages such as python, power shell etc
• Experience with networking, cloud security and governance tools
• Experience with microservices architectures and containers ie. Docker and container orchestration (ECS or Kubernetes)
• Experience with assessment, development and implementation, operationalization and documentation of a comprehensive and broad set of security technologies and processes ie data protection, cryptography, key management, identity and access management (IAM), network security within SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud environments.
• Working knowledge of common and industry standard cloud-native/cloud-friendly authentication mechanisms (OAuth, OpenID, etc).
• Has extensive experience in delivery of technology solutions as an Infrastructure Architect
• Strong relationship building, negotiation and influencing skills and is fully experienced at dealing with senior business stakeholders
   

Qualification Requirement:
A postgraduate degree level qualification in a relevant discipline with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
