Our client is a high profile government agency that is embarking on a range of significant IT transformation - including the building of a high profile Enterprise Data Warehouse
Role description:
The Technical Business Analyst will enable successful delivery of the Enterprise Data Warehouse and associated Business Intelligence projects by Business Analysis, Requirements Management, Functional Design and Process Mapping
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the project team through the requirements gathering, documenting and analysis process
- Gather and document requirements and translate to the technical team and/or the business
- Identify and engage stakeholders - facilitating collaboration and workshopping
- Make recommendations on data collection, integration and retention requirements incorporating business requirements and knowledge of best practices
- Undertake detailed analysis of complex and diverse BI/DW requirements to ensure that all analysis and modelling is based in factual elements
- Develop business requirements and functional specifications
- Understand project scope and clearly document what is in scope
- Liaise with all members of the development
- Coordination of, and contribution to UAT activity.
The following requirements are essential:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a Business Analyst role on large scale projects
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a BA on Enterprise Data Warehouse projects
- Experience as a BA supporting business intelligence, dashboards, data analysis and reporting projects
- Experienced in requirements gathering and conversing with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
- Good understanding of all aspects of the systems/software development lifecycle
- Experience in working within an agile environment
- Strong requirements gathering, user stories writing, and acceptance criteria definition skills
- Deep understanding of dimensional modelling concepts with attention to determining and applying level of detail, aggregation, summarisation, etc.
- Knowledge of SQL and the MS stack including Power BI
- Proven skills in confident communication, influencing and clear accurate documentation
- Track record in gaining the confidence of business stakeholders and building productive working relationships with key clients and technical teams
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, preferably in an IT discipline, or equivalent successful experience.
