This is an opportunity to join a leading Global professional services organization as an SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to assist in the maintenance and development of internal infrastructure.
  
The company has a dedicated infrastructure team and due to growth and expansion within the I.T areas of the business, they now require a dedicated specialist to look after a number of SQL Servers / Databases to ensure reliability, availability, maintenance and security is achieved.
  
We are looking for someone with excellent skills supporting and managing SQL Databases from version 2005 up to 2016 versions which also requires strong skills with Microsoft technologies along with supporting Windows OS environments, whilst providing 3rd level support.  
  
On a day to day basis you will be monitoring the SQL Servers / Databases and their performance as well as troubleshooting any issues that arise to ensure minimal downtime. This requires a pro-active mindset to be able to rollout new solutions and will be responsible for all relevant upgrades.
  
The skills that you could bring to the table:

• A background working in roles where you’ve had full exposure to SQL Server 2005 through to SQL Server 2016 clustering, Data Warehouse and Reporting Services.
• Experience supporting Windows Server operating systems, ideally you would have strengths with Active Directory and Clustering.
• This environment is evolving towards Cloud Services, and exposure to Microsoft Azure / Office 365 would help you succeed in supporting this change and evolution.
• Experience working with Enterprise Monitoring Tools such as Microsoft System Centre Operations Manager (SCOM).
• A good awareness of ITIL service management for Incident Management and Disaster Recovery.
• Virtualisation experience with VMware tools such as ESXi.
• Softer skills would include confidence and strong communication skills to be able to effectively work with Business Stakeholders as well as Senior Technology Managers within the organisation.
• Relevant certifications in the areas of MCSE, MCSA (SQL Server) will get our attention.
