About the role

This role will be performed from our Brisbane office, supported by the latest technology to engage with our sites across our operations.

As a Principal Data Scientist based in Brisbane, your role will be key in ensuring the Maintenance and Production is continuously improving its effectiveness through having integrated fit-for-purpose Data Analytics processes. You will be part of a high-performance Analytics and Planning team, whose primary outcome is to deliver data-driven solutions that will support and improve the performance of our teams across our operations.

In this role you will:

•    Discover and explore new data sources

•    Apply sophisticated and innovative data science techniques, using data to provide practical solutions that deliver tangible value

•    Confidently present ideas, results and recommendations to internal stakeholders

•    Work collaboratively within the broader data analytics team

•    Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in Data Science  

About you

Your CV should ideally outline your skills and experience in some or all of the following areas:

•    Programming (R, Python, Excel, Javascript, C/C++)

•    Machine learning (Supervised and Unsupervised)

•    Data Wrangling (Python, SQL, R)

•    Data Visualization

•    Descriptive Modeling

•    Structured and Unstructured data mining

•    Costing and time usage models

•    Database integration skills

•    Text Mining

•    STEM Qualification

•    Experience in a project management mindset

•    Experience with Big Data technology
