Metrowest Electrical and Communications Pty Ltd (MEC) provides a totally integrated service, incorporating design, civil and construction, installation, commissioning and maintenance expertise to the telecommunications market.

We are currently seeking experienced Rigging supervisors/personnel who are able to join our team performing work on sites around Australia. As well as rigging works this role requires you to assist in the construction and civil component and includes both metropolitan projects and working away from home in remote areas for periods of time.

Please be aware without prior experience with proven references in the following areas any applications will not be considered or responded to.

In order to be considered for this role you MUST demonstrate experience in the following areas:

• The installation, dismantling and maintenance of masts, poles and towers
• Tower, Pole, Guy Mast structural strengthening and/or maintenance of structures
• The marking out of a work site from reference pegs or points to the prescribed tolerances
• Civils and construction works on greenfield site build
• The installation of underground duct, pits, cables and earthing
• Experienced RBS/Node B installation and commissioning and/or microwave radio installation and commissioning
• Experienced in IBC installation and commissioning
• Experience across RF, Microwave, and Fibre technologies
• Experienced with the installation of waveguides and coaxial feeders
• Experienced in site surveys and site audits

The successful applicant must be able to pass a pre-employment working at height medical including drug and alcohol and apply for a National police certificate. 

Minimum qualifications

• Licence to perform high risk work – RA (rigging advanced)
• Valid Western Australian Driver's licence (HR highly desirable)
• Industrial rope rescue (less than 2 years old)
• First Aid at Heights
• Work At Heights
• Senior First Aid Certificate
• RF EME awareness certificate

Experience

• Proven experience in Communications Rigging - minimum 2 years
• Team leader
• Experience driving mobile plant
• Grano and fencing experience

Qualities

• Ability to understand, analyse and conduct work from structural and technical plans
• Quick decision making capability for resolution of rigging installation issues
• Be a good communicator and work well in a team
• Be physically fit – have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the work safely
• Flexible approach to the working environment during the various stages of the project
• Excellent knowledge of all carriers BTS/RBS antenna and feeder installation
