Job Title: Principal Risk Security and Compliance Officer - ANZ

Position Summary:

Within the Verifone Asia Pacific Application Development Centre team, we have crafted a new position for a committed leader to handle end to end security and compliance for payments terminal solutions across New Zealand and Australia, as well as consult and share standard methodologies across the rest of Asia Pacific, Europe, and Americas.

This position is a key role in our ANZ team, to provide internal consultancy, SME advice, and pragmatic support and coordination of all security and compliance  activities of all customer solutions and programs across ANZ. You will propose proper funding, staffing, and lead a range of security and compliance outcomes including Payment Card Industry (PCI) PIN compliance for terminals, as well as vendor processes and development for key-loading solutions (for example Thales and SafeNet/Eracom Host Security Modules, and other local and global partners).   Our Security and Compliance officer is responsible to see that our customer solutions meet all requirements for the Australian Payments Network (previously known as APCA), RBA, Payment Card Scheme security compliance and Australian bank specific security compliance.

The officer takes accountability for full design and delivery of compliance solutions in Australia and New Zealand with specific reference to the current Hardware Security Modules (HSMs). We are seeking a security domain expert with deep experience in Australia and New Zealand security standards include APCA, FIPS, and PCI PIN.  

A key accountability is to ensure all solutions pass industry audits, and are appropriately funded and executed ahead of compliance windows. We design and deliver Key-loading solutions (for example, Verifone Remote Key-loading) to manage in-market systems for leading banking clients across the Australia and New Zealand regions. Understand customer requirements and propose solutions next generation payments terminal products and services. We are looking for a strong leader to design solutions and equipment strategy that complies to industry standards and methodologies, as well as accepted by our banking clients and third party partners. As our security officer, lead our compliance and audits process. You take full responsibility and accountability for the strategy design, to fully align with audits in Australia.

Essential duties & responsibilities:

We work together to understand client needs, with customer obsession to deliver solutions that are right first time. A key to your success is working with local and corporate engineering teams to use new technologies to continue to evolve and enhance our end to end security solutions. You stay up to date on payments security advances, and newest technology solutions for mobile payments. You assess and identify strategic advantages and technological trends. Knowledge & experience:

  • Demonstrated 10 years+ experience with security consulting in a payments or banking delivering end-end payments solutions.
  • Understanding and experience designing and delivering EFTPOS Terminal key-loading solutions for the payments industry, including remote key-loading solutions.
  • Detailed knowledge of PCI PIN and Australian Payments Network (APCA) compliance regulations and knowledge about payments industry solutions to meet these requirements.  You keep up to date on the Australian and global trends and advancements in these payments industry regulations. 
  • Experience delivering compliance solutions and monitoring compliance programs/requirements across multiple programs and customer solutions.
  • Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and industry standards for payments industry.
  • You are knowledgable and experienced as a team guru, working and consulting with cross-company and industry security authorities, in a team environment, to find the best solutions for our customers.
  • You're expert at delivering secure EPOS/EFTPOS solutions.
  • You are highly experienced and enjoy educating others on end-end security issues, especially to understand and deliver compliance solutions.
  • Degree level education required, with recognised industry expertise in end-end payments systems security.

Skills & abilities:

  • You are deeply experienced in secure payments systems. Over many years, you have grown and developed an exceptionally strong working knowledge of PCI PIN and advanced security technologies and capabilities.
  • You possess good interpersonal and communication skills, verbal/written, for internal and external customers a requirement. You are an experienced communicator, and ideally have worked with clients in the banking and financial services industry in Australia as well as New Zealand and globally.

  • You are an expert collaborator.   You work well across global teams, able to influence and synthesise global end-end secure payments efforts for maximum benefit to the region.
