Im currently looking for a Database administrator for a 6 months contract which is very likely to extend for a large worldwide consultancy with this role based in Melbourne CBD. The role is looking for someone to start ideally within the next 4 weeks.
Please see below the skills that will be required within this position:
- Experience using Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) for Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) 15/Solaris UNIX to SQL Server 2016 always-on
- Leading a project where a large complex database Re-platforming Sybase/Solaris platform to Microsoft SQL, estimating the work package, automating and developing the migration scripts/process using SSIS/SSMA
- Use of batch tools such as JAMS
- Ability to read/code/troubleshoot in PERL and PowerShell
- Ability to troubleshoot stored procedures, data elements, indexes etc. as part of a data migration
- Experience automating database operational processes/procedures in SQL Server 2016
- Performance tuning SQL Server 2016
- Support developers in migration challenges and troubleshooting
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with GitHub
- Knowledge of Jenkins/DevOps processes procedures
