About the role...
The Senior Systems Engineer will work in the delivery engineering squad which sits within REA’s Commercial & Developer (C&D) line of business. While we’re a squad of Systems Engineers, we constantly engage with our sisters and brothers in the other C&D squads in true DevOps flair. In this role, you will get to exercise your passion for growing teammates and empowering development squads. You’ll have many forums to lead change within C&D and influence partner teams across the rest of REA.
What we expect:

• 5+ years of systems administration experience in a medium-large sized Linux environment.
• 1+ years’ experience in small operations or engineering teams in DevOps environments.
• Exposure to Agile and Lean practices (e.g. stand-ups, effective cards, retros, etc)
• Recent experience operating in the AWS cloud, also some vSphere desirable
• Proven experience building and supporting modern software delivery techniques (CI/CD, artefact management, zero d/t deployments, etc)
• Proven experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tooling (Ansible, Puppet, Python and bash scripting, etc)
• Up to date knowledge of Linux (libraries, service managers, performance items, etc), TCP/IP networking and other Internet protocols.
• Experience with Docker, also container clustering experience is highly desirable
• Knowledge and understanding of modern operational awareness (events and telemetry, monitoring, alerting, etc) tools and practices
